Overview

Our client is an established and growing environmental consultancy, who offer a range of fire risk services to long-standing clients throughout the South West. They are currently recruiting for an experienced Lead Fire Consultant to cover contracts in and around the Exeter area. The ideal applicant will be well-versed in undertaking fire risk assessments on a range of industrial, commercial and residential sites and will hold a relevant qualification such as the NEBOSH Fire Certificate or equivalent. Must hold a strong technical knowledge and will ideally have experience in liaising with clients and providing consultancy services following risk assessments. Consideration will be given to applications from Plymouth, Bude, Taunton, and the surrounding area.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • The applicant must hold the NEBOSH Fire Certificate or NEBOSH Fire Conversion. Technician status with recognised bodies – IFSM/IFPO/IFE would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Must have an in-depth knowledge and experience of undertaking fire risk assessments.
  • Must have previous practical experience working within this role and within other sectors and must be well versed with the Health & Safety procedures.
  • Must come from a good educational background and must have good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be proficient in using the Microsoft Office Package.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Undertaking Fire Risk Assessments and Health & Safety Risk Assessments in various industry sectors – commercial, industrial and residential.
  • Fire plan drawings, fire drills, fire warden, use of extinguishers, real fire training, briefings, delivering training courses, etc.
  • Delivering presentations and training as and when required.
  • Delivering consultancy services in regard to Fire safety/risk.
  • Getting involved with the Health & Safety pertaining to fire risk assessments.
  • Producing and writing comprehensive and accurate reports.
  • Addressing any issues effectively and appropriately.
  • Liaising with clients and colleagues of all professional levels.
  • Must be flexible with regards to travelling.
