Job summary

Hays Accountancy & Finance is recruiting a Financial & Compliance Accountant in Gloucester, UK. The role leads compliance and governance activities, reviewing statutory accounts and tax returns, and coordinating with offshore teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Suitable candidates will have experience in statutory accounting, VAT/CIS processes, and strong Excel skills, with ACA/ACCA/CIMA part-qualification or qualification preferred. Hybrid/remote working available in a PLC environment.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of statutory accounting, Tax, VAT & CIS compliance processes.
• High proficiency in MS Excel for large data sets.
• Experience in a large organisation or Shared Service environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Review statutory accounts prepared by offshore team for accuracy and formatting.
• Review and approve VAT and CIS returns before submission to Group Tax Team.
• Lead delivery of compliance and governance activities with offshore Compliance & Governance team.
• Coach and provide technical support to drive continuous improvement projects.
