Job summary
Government Digital & Data is seeking a Lead Technical Architect to drive the design and delivery of enterprise-wide infrastructure and software solutions across multiple government projects in Salford, Sheffield, and Glasgow.
You will guide cross-functional teams, balance security and agility, and shape roadmaps while mentoring other architects. Some roles offer hybrid office/home working with a 60% office time requirement.
Qualifications
- Proven track record leading complex technical architectures across multiple projects.
- Experience coordinating across government or large-enterprise environments.
- Strong ability to translate business needs into secure, scalable technical roadmaps.
Responsibilities
- Define enterprise-wide technical strategies and roadmaps.
- Oversee design reviews with Secure by Design principles and governance.
- Coordinate with cross-government teams and external partners.
- Drive digital innovation and evaluate emerging technologies.
- Mentor architects to foster technical excellence.
- Ensure performance, reliability, and security of complex systems.
- Lead projects, manage risks, budgets, and timelines.
- Incorporate lessons learned into future strategies.
