Job summary

QBE European Operations plc. in London is seeking a Lead Enterprise Architect to guide our modernisation journey within the technology and transformation function.

You will set direction on enterprise architecture, roadmaps, standards and strategic options to support global programs. Qualifications

• Proven expertise as Enterprise Architect, with strong delivery in large-scale programs.
• Knowledge of Insurance/reinsurance/finance domains and underwriting tech knowledge.
• Experience working with third-party suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Strong documentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple architecture programs while prioritising work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technology assurance and governance to ensure alignment with architecture policy and practices.
• Maximize alignment and reuse of technology to achieve cost efficiencies.
• Deliver strategy, principles, policies and roadmaps for assigned domains.
• Establish foundational enterprise solution architectures for assigned domains.
• Lead the establishment and implementation of standards and guidelines for technology solutions.
• Provide oversight and leadership on large projects to support business objectives.
• Promote and embed architectural ways of working and governance.
• Research emerging architecture and technology trends.
• Ensure Solution Architects understand the strategic direction of projects.

The opportunity

QBE Europe is currently recruiting a Lead Enterprise Architect to join our well-established architecture team in our London Office. This role will be pivotal as we embark on our modernisation journey within our technology and transformation function.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to make a significant impact in a leading insurance company. As an Enterprise Architect at QBE Europe, you will be at the forefront of our efforts to modernize and transform our technology landscape. You will have the chance to work with a talented and collaborative team, providing technology direction and expertise on decisions and priorities regarding the enterprise's systems architecture. This includes supporting stakeholders with strategies, roadmaps, standards, and project options, as well as assisting in the development and implementation of processes to deliver global enterprise programs effectively.

Your new role

• Provide oversight and leadership on large projects to support business objectives.
• Actively promote and embed architectural ways of working and due governance.
• Conduct research on emerging architecture and technology trends.
• Ensure Solution Architects understand the strategic direction of projects.

About You

• Proven expertise as Enterprise Architect, with strong project delivery in large-scale programs.
• Knowledge of Insurance/reinsurance/finance domain, with strong understanding around the underwriting domain and supporting market leading technology knowledge.
• Experience in working with third‑party suppliers, outsource partners and cross‑functional teams.
• Proven ability in problem analysis, design techniques and managing parallel architecture programs while prioritising work effectively.
• Strong documentation, communication and interpersonal skills, ensuring alignment with diverse audiences.
• Significant experience in project delivery including large scale program experience.
• Demonstrable experience of establishing and maintaining relationships across the business and influencing design and policy where required.
