Job summary

Ordnance Survey is seeking an experienced Lead Engineering Architect to lead our Engineering Architecture capability. You will work with Enterprise Architecture, Engineering, Product and Delivery to translate direction into practical outcomes, enabling teams to deliver at scale.

In this role you will shape technology decisions, promote reuse and governance, and build the foundations that keep our platforms resilient and future-ready.

• Experience leading engineering, solution or technology architecture in a complex environment.
• Strong architectural and technical expertise across modern engineering platforms.
• Ability to turn strategic direction into practical outcomes and technology decisions.
• Strong influencing skills and experience working across multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Collaborative, outcome-focused leadership style.

Responsibilities

• Translate architectural direction into practical engineering standards, patterns and guidance.
• Lead engineering architecture roadmaps that support technology and business outcomes.
• Build and develop a high-performing Engineering Architecture practice.
• Coordinate architecture priorities, demand and capacity to focus effort where it delivers value.
• Promote reuse, interoperability and simplification across the technology estate.
• Provide governance and assurance to enable effective decision-making.
• Support engineering teams through technical leadership and modern practices.
• Build partnerships across Technology and the wider organisation.
