At Alexander Dennis, our vision is to lead the evolution of sustainable on-road mass transportation and mobility.
We design, deliver, and support market-leading buses and coaches that help reduce emissions, improve air quality, and keep communities connected. Every role contributes to that mission whether you’re engineering, driving sales, improving production, or supporting our customers.
As a Lead Engineer within our Advanced Engineering & Concepts team, you'll play a key role in shaping the next generation of sustainable transport solutions. Working within the Systems Engineering Design Team, you'll be responsible for integrating complex vehicle systems, driving requirements management activities, and supporting the development of innovative electric vehicle technologies.
This role combines systems engineering, requirements analysis, model-based engineering techniques and emerging AI-enabled tools to support the design and validation of future vehicle platforms. You'll collaborate with suppliers, engineering specialists and key stakeholders to ensure technical requirements are defined, managed and successfully delivered throughout the product development lifecycle.
We're seeking an experienced systems engineer with a strong technical background and a passion for solving complex engineering challenges. You'll be comfortable working across mechanical, electrical and software disciplines and have experience applying Systems Engineering principles in a product development environment.
You will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experience managing requirements throughout the engineering lifecycle, and the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams. We're looking for someone who is naturally curious, embraces innovation, and is excited by the opportunities presented by electrification, connectivity, autonomy and AI-driven engineering processes.

We take responsibility for our actions, seeking to build trust and earn a reputation for excellence and reliability.
We work with our team members, our supplier partners, and our customers to pursue mutual benefits.
We seek long term success for our business, our communities, and the environment through responsible sourcing, lean manufacturing, and sustainable operations
We care deeply about being inclusive and we encourage applications from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
