Job Description

Are you ready to take on a challenging role that will enhance your engineering skills? A leading company in the Facilities Management industry is hiring a Lead Engineer in West Midlands, where you will have the opportunity to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of key systems while making a significant impact on service delivery.

The Role

You will be responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the site's critical infrastructure and compliance management. Key duties include:

  • M&E and Fabric Services: Ensuring the efficient and effective operation, maintenance and repair of the site's M&E Plant and Equipment and Fabric Services.
  • Maintenance Execution (PPM/Reactive): Organising and carrying out reactive repairs. Prioritising and completing reactive and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks in line with task schedules and industry best practices.
  • Compliance and QHSE: Ensuring adherence to ALSTOM ISO 9001/14001 Quality Management System. Responsible for the management of the Quality, Health, Safety + Environment responsibilities on site.
  • Documentation & Safety Protocols: Formulating, assessing, and validating Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Work Package Plans (WPPs), and maintaining an up-to-date log of WPPs. Responsible for raising & closing out hazard observations.
  • Contractor Management: Providing first line supervision of Specialist Service Contractors, including inductions, monitoring audits, and signing off/actioning minor works from service reports.
  • CAFM and Performance: Management of the CAFM System to ensure staff performance and monitor service delivery.
  • Ownership and Logistics: Taking ownership of own tasks, organising own materials/quotations from suppliers to complete tasks.
  • Operational Requirements: Following operational processes, assisting the contract in creating innovative tools/ideas, adhering to organisational policies, and being available for out of hours call outs as required.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Experience with risk assessments and compliance standards (e.g., ISO, WPPs).
