Job summary

Hunter Philips Executive Search is seeking an HVDC Lead Engineer to own the design, development and delivery of HVDC systems from concept to commissioning, collaborating with cross-functional teams and clients to ensure technical excellence and project success.

The role demands deep HVDC knowledge (LCC, VSC), strong leadership, and experience with PSCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, and PSS®E; offshore/renewable HVDC experience and familiarity with EPC/FEED/turnkey delivery are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in HVDC engineering or transmission systems.
• Deep understanding of HVDC technologies (LCC, VSC), protection schemes, and control systems.
• Strong project leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in simulation tools (PSCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, PSS®E).
• Experience in offshore or renewable HVDC applications.
• Knowledge of hybrid AC/DC grid integration.
• Familiarity with international project delivery models (EPC, FEED, turnkey).
