Job summary

CHEC in Stevenage is seeking an Endoscopy Lead Practitioner to support the hospital manager in the Endoscopy Department, ensuring governance, clinical effectiveness and standards of care.

You will use advanced knowledge to guide and support the team and contribute to CHEC’s endoscopy strategy, including ensuring JAG accreditation support.

Qualifications

• Registered practitioner with the NMC or HCPC.
• At least 1 year of experience in Endoscopy service.
• Experience with JAG accreditation.
• Strong patient safety and care focus.

Responsibilities

• Support in the management of the endoscopy service and governance to uphold highest standards of care.
• Plan and provide quality care across the endoscopy patient pathway.
• Provide a safe environment and address issues affecting patient safety.
• Provide specialist advice and support when required.
• Ensure equipment and resources are available for upcoming endoscopy sessions.
• Participate in care and decontamination of endoscopes with traceability records.
• Provide day-to-day management and motivation to all staff.
• Maintain good communication within the department and with hospital information.

Job Title: Endoscopy Lead Practitioner

Location: Stevenage

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week. You will be required to cover variable days and weekends to meet business needs.

Tier 2 visa sponsorship available.

We are on an exciting journey in expanding our services into Endoscopy. Our services will include gastroscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, and haemorrhoidal banding.

About The Role

The role will be to support the hospital manager in the effective management of the Endoscopy Department ensuring the day-to-day operation reflects the highest standard of governance, clinical effectiveness, and standards of care.

You will use your advanced knowledge and experience to guide and support their team whilst actively being involved in the delivery of patient care.

You will contribute significantly to the delivery of CHEC’s endoscopy strategy, ensuring JAG accreditation is supported.

We Are Looking For Someone Who Can

• Support in the management of the endoscopy service, ensuring that the highest quality of patient centred care is delivered
• Plan and provide quality care across the whole endoscopy patient pathway
• Provide a safe environment and act on any discrepancies or issues that may affect patient safety
• Provide specialist advice and support when required
• Ensure equipment and recourses are available for upcoming endoscopy sessions
• Participate in the care and decontamination of endoscopes. Including accurate records of traceability of the endoscopes and accessories
• Provide day to day management and motivation to all staff
• Maintaining good communication within the department and keep staff informed of all relevant hospital information and changes

To Be Successful In This Role You Will Need

• Registered practitioner with the NMC or HCPC
• At least 1-year previous experience as registered practitioner or equivalent in Endoscopy service
• Experience with JAG accreditation
• Passion for high quality patient safety and care
• Educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience
• Previous management or team leader experience
