Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Principal Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer in Stoke Gifford, Bristol, with hybrid working arrangements. You will lead EMC testing and support projects as the technical authority on EMC within our Naval Nuclear business, ensuring safety, compliance, and mission readiness.

You will collaborate with MoD stakeholders, drive improvements, and shape future EMC capabilities across the business in a full-time, permanent role.

Qualifications

Subject Matter Expert knowledge of DEF STAN 59-411.
Strong understanding of electromagnetic compatibility principles, standards, and theory.
Experience with MoD Submarine Delivery Agency environment and stakeholder landscape.
Experience authoring EMC Control Plans and associated technical documentation.
Experience developing EMC design policies, including cable routing and segregation guidance.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of engineers delivering EMC testing and support projects.
Manage the scoping, planning, scheduling, and budgeting of EMC testing activities.
Drive continuous improvement across EMC support, testing processes, and engineering best practice.
Collaborate with internal teams and customer stakeholders to improve project outcomes and performance.
Grow EMC capability and support the development of future engineering opportunities.
