Job summary

Renishaw’s CMM and Gauging Products Division seeks a Senior or Lead Embedded Software Engineer to develop and maintain real-time software for high-speed automated measurement systems.

You will design software from registers to system level, implement control and measurement algorithms, and troubleshoot code while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to push performance advancements.

Qualifications

• Experience with modern C++ and C for embedded systems.
• Clear understanding of software design and architecture.
• Desire to write high-quality software.
• Interest in applying knowledge to solve problems innovatively.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate clearly.
• Degree or equivalent experience in engineering, CS, or related field.
• Experience with Git and Azure DevOps/change management.
• Knowledge of unit testing and test-driven development.
• Multithreaded programming in real-time OS.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and embedded security issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop real-time software to control automated measurement systems and sensors.
• Design and architect software from register to system level to meet requirements.
• Analyze existing algorithms and improve system performance.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on sensors and systems.
• Conduct design reviews and develop unit/integration tests.
• Produce high-quality design documentation.
• Liaise with application and product-support engineers to diagnose field issues.
