H Squared Talent Ltd is seeking an embedded software engineer to join a small team building control systems for bespoke scientific equipment. You will lead microcontroller-based control, develop PC-based software and GUI/HMI, and collaborate with electronics on motor and pump control.

The role involves testing, FAT/SAT work, and occasional customer-site visits, with ~10% UK/overseas travel. Proficient in C/C++, Python, C#, and safety-focused development practices is beneficial.

Qualifikationen

• Hands-on experience writing software for microcontrollers and embedded systems.
• Solid knowledge of electronics, both analogue and digital, and how they interface with control software.
• Experience in C/C++, Python and C#.

Aufgaben

• Take the lead on microcontroller-based control for new products.
• Write PC-based software and GUI/HMI applications that sit on top of the control systems.
• Design the hardware and software interlocks that keep our systems safe to run.
• Work with an electronics engineer on motor and pump control.
• Test new products as they develop, and help Production/Test with fault finding and FAT/SAT, including visits to customer sites.
• Use Git, and keep good records so any change to the software can be traced back.
• Work in C/C++, Python and C#, and use PID loops. Knowing MISRA C and IEC 61508 will help.
