Job summary

Ilmor is seeking a Lead Electrical Technician to head a small team in wiring harness design and prototype manufacture for race and production systems. You will assemble and test electronic devices, and contribute to robust electrical/electronic systems for racing applications.

Responsibilities include testing, reporting results to design, and operating a variety of test rigs. Occasional travel to remote sites is possible.

Qualifications

• Fully conversant with DR25 system, motorsport wiring specs and premier racing series harness design.
• Harness testing using a dedicated tester (Cirris et al).
• Full system testing using target hardware (ECUs and related components).
• Self-motivated, able to work unsupervised across multiple responsibilities.
• Assemble and test electronic systems of varying complexity.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; remotely coordinating with teams.
• Proficient with MS Word and Excel; capable mentoring others.
• Desirable: electrical design of harnesses using CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team in design and prototype manufacture of wiring harnesses.
• Assemble and test electronic devices designed in-house.
• Test suspect components and report results to design teams.
• Specify, assemble, test and operate test rigs (alternator, actuator, hybrid drive, fuel rigs).
• Support electrical installation for engine test facilities.
• Travel to remote sites for design and ongoing support as needed.
