Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer for a prominent company in the Pontefract area. You will be responsible for maintaining existing plant and equipment while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate should possess relevant qualifications and experience in a FMCG environment. The role offers a competitive salary of £50,000 - £60,000 plus a car allowance.

Qualifications

  • Apprentice trained in a relevant electrical engineering discipline.
  • Qualified in 18 Edition BS7671 Electrical Regulations.
  • Working on a Call Out basis when required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining existing plant and equipment.
  • Responding to breakdowns to reduce downtime.
  • Improving current systems and documentation.
  • Complying with health & safety regulations.

Skills

Technical knowledge in Electrical and Mechanical engineering
Experience with Power Distribution
Practical knowledge of PLCs
Experience in a 24/7 Production Environment

Education

Relevant electrical Qualifications - HNC/ONC/BTEC
Apprentice Trained

Tools

Siemens S5 and S7 experience
Knowledge of 18th edition wiring regulations
Job description
Overview

We are working with a well established Heavy Industry/FMCG company based in the Pontefract area. They are looking for a lead electrical engineer to join them on a days-only basis.

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 plus car allowance.

Responsibilities
  • Maintaining excising plant and equipment and assisting with new installations on site.
  • Respond to breakdowns efficiently in order to reduce machine downtime and increase production across site, minimising breakdowns through regular PPM's.
  • Improving current systems on site including any technical documentation.
  • Complying with all health & safety regulations and reviewing safety systems.
Job Requirements
  • Technical knowledge and capability to handle the Electrical and Mechanical engineering activities of their plant.
  • Apprentice trained in a relevant electrical engineering discipline.
  • 18th edition wiring regulations.
  • Experience with Power Distribution, Emergency Generators and UPS systems.
  • Familiarity with Instrumentation and Process Controllers.
  • Practical knowledge of PLCs, Motor Control and Variable Speed Drives.
  • Experience, preferably in a 24/7 Production Environment.
  • Working on a Call Out basis when required.

  • Qualified in 18 Edition BS7671 Electrical Regulations. - Advantageous
