Job Description Summary: The Lead Electrical Engineer will oversee and support the electrical performance, availability and reliability of our renewable energy assets across the UK. The successful candidate will act as a technical authority, providing expert support to operations, procurement, and health & safety teams. They will be instrumental in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical infrastructure across multiple wind farm sites.

Main Function & Scope
  • Provide technical assistance and electrical engineering knowledge to the operations, procurement and health and safety teams.
  • Perform the procurement, requisitions, purchase orders from spares parts, new parts and suppliers.
  • Manage preventive and corrective electrical infrastructure maintenance on BOP, switchgears, transformers, generators and converters.
  • Improve wind sites availability by assessing the condition of electrical components and providing solutions when issues occur.
  • Review reports from preventive and corrective interventions and perform the appropriate follow up.
  • Conduct, support, manage and review the RCA analysis on electrical component failures.
  • Manage the internal HV team.
  • Maintain site grid compliance by responding to queries and audits.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily support to the team and to Asset Managers
  • Provide daily technical support to asset managers, analyse incidents, plan works, manage breakdowns
  • Procurement, requisitions, purchase orders from spares parts, new parts, suppliers, contact suppliers to quote equipment, perform procurement to find new single parts, request requisitions and send purchase orders to suppliers, invoice validation.
  • Manage and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance, including the collection of oil samples. Review the reports and manage any follow-up actions.
  • Electrical infrastructure BOP, switchgears, generators, transformers and OLTCs.
  • Define, justify, track and manage the UK Electrical Reliability budget.
  • For major components, minor components, preventative and corrective maintenance, contract fees and projects.
  • Maintain grid compliance at UK sites.
  • Respond to NESO and DNO queries, compile technical responses to Compliance Repeat Plan audits and ensure sites remain up to date with changes to UK grid code.
  • Keep a record of the electrical components in stock in the UK, their condition, and suitability for different sites. Work with stock management, procurement and asset management teams to define minimum stock levels of key components.
  • Develop and implement Operations Best Practices relating to Electrical Balance of Plant Management.
  • Create procedures and records, tender support documentation, create, implement and manage up to date folders with entities and suppliers to share high volume of information.
  • Manage and deliver projects to improve performance and reduce downtimes
  • Analyse and implement new projects.
  • Engineering change assessment
  • Review technical information and complete technical due diligence when changes are required on site (e.g. due to part obsolescence).
  • Manage the UK internalisation project
  • Develop the required procedures, manage Nadara HV Rules, purchase equipment, recruit and manage staff and define KPIs.
