Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Ampthill, Bedfordshire, seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer for a 6-month, on-site contract. You will guide a design team through concept-to-completion of mixed electrical/electronic hardware, including analogue, digital and FPGA work, with strict phase-gate processes.

Responsibilities span defining specs, supplier reviews, and detailed design, schematic capture, PCB layouts, testing and documentation, with SC security clearance required. On-site two days a week mandatory.

Qualifications

  • Formal electronic qualification such as HNC/HND/BEng.
  • Experience in electronics hardware design and product development.
  • Proven digital and analogue electronics design.
  • Experience of PCB layout (Altium Designer) and schematic capture.
  • EMC awareness at product and PCB level.
  • Ability to support assembly, integration and test.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, team player.
  • Security clearance to SC is required

Responsibilities

  • Guide the team in integrating LRU deliverables and installation.
  • Define processes, specifications, and procedures for electrical hardware design.
  • Review supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.
  • Develop functional and physical design requirements for integrated architecture.
  • Design electrical/electronic circuitry (analogue, digital, FPGA).
  • Create schematics and PCB layouts.
  • Test, analyze and evaluate circuits and components.
  • Perform circuit simulation and analysis
