Responsibilities

• Lead the development of electrical design strategies and solutions for capital projects.
• Carry out and approve detailed design work for substations and associated infrastructure (up to 132kV).
• Oversee and manage contractors and consultants throughout project lifecycles.
• Prepare and approve technical specifications for all plant and equipment.
• Witness and accept equipment during Factory Acceptance Testing.
• Carry out protection setting calculations.
• Supervise and mentor junior and graduate engineers.
• Approve the work of other engineers at Lead Engineer level.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC in Electrical Engineering (degree preferred).
• Strong experience in substation design (132kV/33kV/11kV).
• In–depth understanding of protection schemes, switchgear, overhead lines and underground cable design.
• Knowledge of CDM regulations in a utility or DNO setting.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Familiar with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (especially Excel) experience with power system analysis tools desirable.
