Anglian Water Group Ltd. is seeking a Lead (Pb) Scientist to drive lead mitigation in drinking water. The role combines onsite work with data‑driven decision making and requires travel across the region. The post includes out‑of‑hours standby and a full UK driving licence.

The successful candidate will manage data collection and analysis, monitor the lead sampling programme, and contribute to strategy delivery to reduce lead risks while ensuring safe water for customers.

Qualifications

• Educated to a degree level in a relevant scientific subject or equivalent experience.
• Ability to critically evaluate information to take tactical action.
• Excellent data interpretation skills and scientific reasoning.

Responsibilities

• Data collection, manipulation, analysis and interpretation of results.
• Analyse phosphate dosing plant performance.
• Monitor lead sampling programme and review its adequacy.
• Provide information for Lead Strategy Team reporting.
• Respond to exceedances of the lead standard and handle customer queries.
• Support Lead Advice Line and manage data/documentation.
• Contribute to short/medium-term strategies to reduce lead risks.
• Drive continuous improvement in Health & Safety standards.
