Job summary

NHS Lothian is recruiting a Lead Specialist Practitioner District Nurse for the West Cluster to lead, co-ordinate and develop the District Nursing Service in East Lothian, including day-to-day management of staff and enhancing patient- and family-centred care.

The post holder will work with the Clinical Nurse Manager and others to develop existing services and new initiatives, aiming to prevent hospital admissions and support early discharge to the community.

Qualifications

• PVG Scheme membership/record is required.
• Experience leading and developing district nursing services.
• Ability to work flexibly across Lothian to meet service demands.
• Committed to person-centred care and strong nursing leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead, co-ordinate and develop the District Nursing Service within East Lothian.
• Manage day-to-day staff and support high quality clinical practice.
• Collaborate with the Clinical Nurse Manager and others on service development.
• Contribute to prevention of hospital admissions and early discharge initiatives.
