Job summary

Ageas UK is looking for a Direct Home Portfolio Underwriting Lead to drive portfolio performance and shape underwriting strategy across a leading Home portfolio. You will collaborate with Pricing, Marketing, Distribution, Claims and Fraud teams to ensure sustainable growth while delivering competitive products that meet customer needs.

You will monitor performance, shape risk appetite, influence pricing decisions and lead a small underwriting team.

Qualifications

• Experience managing and analysing Home Insurance portfolios.
• Strong understanding of underwriting, pricing and portfolio performance.
• Commercial mindset with the confidence to influence decisions.
• Knowledge of direct, digital and price comparison website channels.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of the UK Home Insurance market and regulatory environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Previous people leadership or team management experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor portfolio performance and identify opportunities and risks.
• Help shape underwriting strategy, risk appetite and growth plans.
• Provide underwriting input into pricing, footprint and channel decisions.
• Partner with Pricing, Marketing, Distribution, Claims and Fraud teams.
• Keep track of market trends, competitor activity and customer behaviour.
• Drive data-led insights to support trading and portfolio performance.
• Present recommendations and performance insights to senior stakeholders.
• Lead, coach and develop a small underwriting team.
