A prominent healthcare trust in Cardiff is seeking a Lead Digital Clinical Specialist to drive digital transformation in healthcare delivery. The successful candidate will oversee the implementation of clinical digital systems and provide training to the nursing teams. With a Master's level education and extensive digital knowledge, you will play a key role in enhancing patient outcomes through effective use of digital platforms. This full-time permanent role offers a salary ranging from £48,527 to £55,532 annually.
Velindre University NHS Trust (VUNHST) is advancing its digital transformation agenda to enhance clinical practice, improve patient outcomes, and prepare for future service delivery at the new Velindre Cancer Centre and beyond. To achieve this, strong clinical digital leadership is pivotal. This commitment includes embedding digital solutions across all care settings, supporting staff to adopt new technologies, and ensuring systems are safe, effective, and aligned with modern healthcare standards.
The Lead Digital Clinical Specialist will provide robust clinical leadership and be responsible for the operational delivery of this transformation. This will be achieved through working within a multi-disciplinary team to lead the implementation and optimisation of clinical digital systems. This includes the successful delivery of the Trust's electronic prescribing and medicines administration (ePMA) solution, which will support the safe, clinical, and cost-effective use of medicines across the organisation and all clinical digital infrastructure required for the new Velindre Cancer Service. In addition, the post holder will be responsible for developing, planning, and delivering training programmes for nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team to support the rollout and effective use of the Welsh Nursing Care Record (WNCR) and other clinical digital platforms.
