DVSA is seeking a Lead Power Platform Developer to establish an in-house capability, guiding the design, build and testing of applications used by frontline staff. The role involves collaboration with external suppliers and DVSA stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
You will join a growing internal Application Development team, shaping its structure and strategy while delivering critical applications such as those supporting theory tests and roadside services.
Lead Developer - Power Platform
Location: This role is advertised as being based in Uxbridge; however, the contractual base will be Yeading.
Salary: £57,515 per annum (Plus an additional Government Digital and Data Profession allowance (non-pensionable) up to £24,915.)

While estate works are being carried out at the Yeading site, all roles will be temporarily located in Uxbridge. Successful applicants will therefore begin their employment at the Uxbridge location.
Please be aware that all employees will be required to work from the Yeading site once it reopens in 2028.
As a Lead Developer for Power Platform, you will be integral to setting up new in house capability in the team, taking on the support and development of current and future applications.
Microsoft Dynamics and Power Platform forms a major part of our current and future technical roadmap, and the decision has been made to provision an in-house team with the vision of insourcing support and development of externally built applications, and the ability to produce internally developed applications and solutions.
You’ll have the opportunity to join the team at its inception, allowing you to actively shape its structure, training programs, and strategic direction. Our applications are instrumental in facilitating essential activities for DVSA staff.
You will be part of our expanding internal Application Development team, which develops and maintains mission critical applications for DVSA.
Our applications are used by DVSA staff to perform essential activities such as the booking theory tests, roadside enforcement encounters and annual vehicle tests.
As a Lead Power Platform Developer, you will be designing, building, and testing software that makes a real difference to our frontline staff and helps improve road safety.
You will work collaboratively with external suppliers and DVSA stakeholders and to ensure the support and delivery of defined solutions.
You will be working within a multi-disciplinary team using Agile delivery methodologies, delivering solutions focused on user needs.
You will have proven experience of software development, with a detailed knowledge Microsoft Dynamics and Power Platform.
As part of the technical steering team the role holder will also manage the definition and implementation of departmental technical development and test strategy to drive Digital plans across all DVSA customer facing services.
