Job summary

The Friends Dermatology Centre, Kent and Canterbury Hospital, seeks a Consultant Dermatologist to lead the dermatology service and contribute to postgraduate teaching. The post is mainly based at the Friends Dermatology Centre with occasional Trustwide work and a special interest aligned with the team’s needs.

GMC registration and CCT/CESR, or CCT/CESR within six months of interview, are required. A 10-session role with leadership responsibilities and potential to focus on skin cancer,

Qualifications

• MRCP (UK) is required.
• GMC registration is required.
• CCT or CESR, or obtained within 6 months of interview.
• Wide knowledge and experience in dermatology.
• Involvement in audit, QI or governance processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide a first-class dermatology service across all its aspects, with a special interest welcomed to complement existing consultants
• Provide effective leadership to staff supporting the service
• Practise to the highest ethical standards
• Support other clinical specialties
• Contribute to postgraduate teaching
• Run general dermatology clinics, with occasional skin surgery
• Keep business plans and development strategies confidential and cooperate with the Trust on them
• Work Trustwide when required
