Job summary

Zego in London, UK, is hiring a Lead Data Scientist for the Telematics Data Science team. You will own behavioural features and algorithms from hypothesis to production, working at the intersection of data science and engineering on GPS, inertial, and other sensor data to power pricing insights.

You'll ship production-grade Python and SQL, build scalable data pipelines, and collaborate with engineers, product managers and actuaries. A growth mindset and daily AI usage are required.

Qualifications

• MSc in Engineering, CS, Physics or Math (quantitative field).
• Strong Python and SQL, production-grade code experience.
• Experience delivering DS/DE projects to production.
• Comfort with Snowflake and the SciPy stack.
• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Work with high-frequency sensor data (GPS, accelerometer, gyroscope) at scale.
• Research new behavioural features and detection algorithms.
• Design and build features feeding pricing context and risk.
• Translate ideas to production with Python/SQL.
• Lead experiments and validate impact with data.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and actuaries.
