Job summary

Allianz UK Personal is seeking a Lead Data Engineer (MLOps) to define technical direction, raise engineering standards and lead the delivery of cloud-based Data Science products. You will write high-quality code, shape architecture and guide the team in best practices for MLOps.

This hybrid role is based in London, Bristol or Bournemouth with in-office presence two days per month, and a salary circa £80,000 depending on experience and location.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Data/ML/Platform Engineering with strong MLOps expertise.
• Proficient in Python and SQL.
• Hands-on with cloud services (Azure, AWS or GCP) and CI/CD practices.
• Experience writing production-grade data pipelines and working with modern data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive adoption of MLOps standards across CI/CD and deployment.
• Write high-quality Python code for production pipelines and services.
• Lead delivery of cloud-based Data Science products and mentor Data Engineers.
• Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to shape technical direction.
• Implement scalable data processes and governance.
