Job summary

KDR Talent Solutions Ltd is partnering with a fast-growing technology business leveraging AI and data analytics to tackle challenges in scientific research. They are seeking a Lead Data Engineer to own the Google Cloud data platform and drive architectural direction in a small, highly technical team.

You'll shape the engineering function during scaling, collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions, and enjoy genuine ownership of the platform and impact across

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with GCP, BigQuery and Python in production.
• Experience building scalable, production-grade data platforms.
• Strong understanding of data architecture and performance optimisation.
• Ability to own technical decisions and work independently.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders.
• Experience with Airflow, Terraform or GKE is a plus.

KDR are working with a fast-growing technology business using AI and advanced data analytics to tackle complex challenges in scientific research and innovation.

They're looking for a Lead Data Engineer to take ownership of their Google Cloud data platform, joining a small, highly technical team working on products with meaningful real-world applications.

What you'll do

Own the Data Platform:

Take responsibility for the development and ongoing improvement of their GCP data platform, ensuring it can support increasingly complex requirements.

Design and develop robust data pipelines, working with large volumes of complex data from a variety of sources.

Shape Technical Direction:

Influence architectural decisions, improve performance and scalability, and help establish best practices across the platform.

Provide technical guidance to other engineers and play a key role in the future growth of the team.

Work Closely with Stakeholders:

Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to translate business requirements into scalable engineering solutions.

What they're looking for
