Searchability® is seeking a Lead Data Engineer in London to design, build and maintain scalable data platforms supporting business-critical applications. You will develop robust data pipelines, optimise storage and processing, and implement data quality and governance while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience in a Lead/Senior Data Engineer or backend role.
• Experience designing and building scalable data pipelines.
• Strong SQL and database knowledge.
• Experience with data processing and orchestration tools.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Experience in agile software environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

THE LEAD DATA ENGINEER ROLE:

As the Lead Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, building and maintaining scalable data platforms that support business-critical applications. You'll develop robust data pipelines, optimise data storage and processing, implement best practices around data quality and governance, and work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-performing data solutions. You'll also provide technical guidance, helping to drive engineering standards and continuous improvement across the data function.

LEAD DATA ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• Commercial experience within a Lead Data Engineer, Senior Data Engineer or Backend Engineering role
• Experience designing and building scalable data pipelines
• Strong knowledge of SQL and database technologies
• Experience working with modern data processing and orchestration tools
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP
• Experience working within agile software engineering environments
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
