Job summary

Santander is seeking a Lead Credit Risk Analyst based in the United Kingdom (Milton Keynes, Manchester or Glasgow). You will shape risk management across Retail Unsecured portfolios, working with stakeholders to implement policy changes and drive robust credit risk strategies.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of developing, implementing and optimising credit risk strategies across the customer lifecycle (Required)
  • Excellent project management skills with experience of owning end-to-end analytical projects (Preferred)
  • Awareness of credit industry products and markets (Preferred)
  • Degree level in a numerate subject (e.g. Maths, Statistics, Operational Research, Physics, or Engineering, ideally 2:1) and/or equivalent qualifications/experience (Preferred)
  • Proven experience of using statistical programming tools, e.g. SAS, Python (Required)
  • Understanding of credit bureau data, affordability metrics and regulatory requirements relevant to unsecured lending (Preferred)
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to influence at all levels, including non-technical audiences (Preferred)
  • High attention to detail combined with the ability to think strategically and creatively (Preferred)
  • Commercial mindset with a solid focus on balancing growth, risk and customer outcomes (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Lead analysis into the performance of existing Credit Risk policy and identify areas where policy can be simplified or enhanced.
  • Work with stakeholders to support the implementation of changes to Credit Risk policies and strategies.

is looking for a Lead Credit Risk Analyst based in either Milton Keynes, Manchester or Glasgow.

As a Lead Credit Risk Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how we manage risk across Santander's Retail Unsecured portfolios. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will apply and further develop your credit risk expertise throughout the product lifecycle, while partnering closely with stakeholders across the business.

  • Applying your ability to use industry leading analytical techniques to lead analysis into the performance of existing Credit Risk policy and identifying areas where policy can be simplified or enhanced.
  • Using your high degree of expertise in the use of statistical software.
  • Working effectively with a range of other business areas to support the implementation of changes to Credit Risk policies and strategies.
  • Working autonomously, requiring very little guidance from management to complete complex work.
  • Providing analysts within the team with help and guidance to support them in both the delivery of their work and their personal development.

Professional Experience:

Salary Range:

£59,200.00 - £88,800.00 per annum (depending on experience)

This salary range represents the expected remuneration for the role. Annual salary is based on a standard 35-hour working week. Actual salary offered will depend on skills, experience, qualifications and location.
