Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks an Associate or Associate Director with land quality assessment expertise to join the Contaminated Land and Hydrogeology team in the Sustainable Land and Resource Management Practice. The role supports major UK infrastructure projects through land quality and geology/soils assessments for EIAs and planning.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant engineering or science subject with strong geo-environmental background.
• Significant project delivery experience in contaminated land consultancy.
• Experience leading land quality and geology/soils assessments for EIAs and planning.
• Chartered status or commitment to achieve within 6–12 months with support.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on land quality assessments for major infrastructure projects.
• Lead coordination and delivery of Phase 1/Phase 2 studies, remediation design and verification.
• Manage project delivery including programme, budget and QA.
• Collaborate with clients, regulators and internal teams to achieve outcomes.
• Support business development and tender submissions; mentor junior staff.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies.
