Job summary

Athona Limited seeks a Consultant Psychiatrist to join an established inpatient mental health service in Exeter. You will provide high-quality care to adults with complex needs, lead within a supportive multidisciplinary team, and contribute to clinical governance and service development.

Qualifications

• MRCPsych or equivalent qualification recognised by Royal College of Psychiatrists.
• Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status in England are required.
• Experience in acute inpatient or community mental health services.
• Strong skills in psychiatric assessment, risk management and complex clinical decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Act as Responsible Clinician, overseeing patient care throughout admission and treatment.
• Lead clinical decision-making and management of complex psychiatric presentations.
• Develop evidence-based treatment plans and support positive patient outcomes.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and liaise with external agencies.
