Job summary

Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems (Europe) Ltd in the UK seeks a Component Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary team in developing wire harness components. You will manage from supplier consultation to customer approval, ensuring seamless integration, qualification and documentation.

The role requires an engineering degree, 10+ years in D&D within an industrial setting, and fluent English; French is an asset. Regular travel to meet with remote teams and customers is expected.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree.
• International profile including management of local and remote teams.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in D&D functions in an industrial environment.
• Highly specialized knowledge of automotive technology, processes and products (wiring parts).
• Fluent English required; French language desired.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team for development of multiple wire harness component families (e.g. protectors, grommets, brackets).
• Oversee development from supplier consultation to customer approval for new parts and catalogue updates.
• Lead project integrations, validations and customer qualifications.
• Provide technical support to Sumitomo’s teams, suppliers and customers.
• Mentor and coach junior team members; report on activity and team performance.
• Ensure collaboration with suppliers, customers and group engineering entities.
