Thurrock Council is seeking a Lead Community Life Skills Practitioner for the Disabled Children’s Short Breaks and Outreach Service. The role involves direct work with disabled children, leading and supervising sessions in the community, and overseeing medication administration.

The successful candidate will hold a Level 3 childcare qualification or have at least 2 years’ experience, and must meet Enhanced DBS requirements. Flexible/hybrid working arrangements may apply.

Qualificações

• Relevant Level 3 childcare qualification and/or at least 2 years' experience of working with disabled children in a professional setting.
• DBS Check: Enhanced level with Children's Barred List is required.

Responsabilidades

• Undertake direct work with disabled children of all ages.
• Lead, plan, facilitate and supervise short break sessions in the community.
• Supervise Community Life Skill Practitioner staff within sessions.
• Manage and oversee medication administration.
• Support children with specialist health care needs.
• Support and advise service users and advocate on their behalf.
• Offer advice on behavioural support and communication techniques.
• Report to the Team Manager of any changes in child behaviours or injuries.
• Help support and promote independence and life skills with young people.
