The Role

A senior, hands‑on technical leadership role responsible for shaping and delivering complex R&D programmes focused on construction materials innovation.

You will:

  • Lead development of new technology areas within cement and concrete systems
  • Design and manage advanced experimental programmes and laboratory infrastructure
  • Specify, procure and commission specialist testing equipment
  • Ensure full compliance with HSE and laboratory best practice
  • Mentor and guide a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists
  • Bridge the gap between research output and industrial application
The Ideal Profile

You will bring:

  • A PhD in Construction Materials, Civil Engineering, Chemistry or similar
  • 10+ years' industrial experience in cement/concrete R&D
  • Proven expertise in cement chemistry, hydration, performance and durability
  • Strong experience setting up and running laboratory environments
  • Background in sustainable materials, low‑carbon processes or industrial decarbonisation initiatives
  • A track record of leading independent research and technical strategy
