Job summary

CBSbutler is assisting a cybersecurity technology business in London to recruit a Lead C++ Software Engineer - Technical Delivery. The role is hybrid with 2 days on site, offering £80,000-£95,000 plus bonus and excellent benefits.

You will own the endpoint software, remain hands-on, and take wider responsibility for design, planning, coordination, testing and release across Windows, Linux, Android and iOS. A strong C++ background and systems thinking are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong, recent experience developing complex software in modern C++.
• Systems-level design or architecture experience involving multiple interacting components.
• Solid understanding of concurrency, IPC, networking, performance, algorithms and secure software.
• Evidence that you have owned a complex product, component or feature through to release.
• The confidence to work autonomously and make progress when the answer is not obvious.
• Appetite for planning, prioritisation and delivery responsibility while remaining hands-on.
• Technical or scientific degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related subject.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing complex software in modern C++.
• Owning technically challenging features from design through testing and release.
• Translating a product roadmap into scoped engineering work.
• Coordinating delivery across a small team and keeping dependencies visible.
• Working with Product, QA, Customer Success and other engineering teams.
• Managing releases and addressing risks before delays.
• Improving testing, automation, maintainability and usability.
• Mentoring engineers and guiding technical decisions.
• Exploring AI-assisted development tools to boost speed and quality.
