IF1200 GE Aviation Systems Limited in Cheltenham is seeking a Lead Buyer on a 15 month fixed term contract. You will own a group of suppliers, place POs, manage supplier relationships and drive risk mitigation.

The role may expand to include Long Term Agreement and Blanket Purchase Agreement placements in line with the commodity strategy. Ideal candidates will bring strong sourcing and aerospace procurement experience and be comfortable coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time

• Manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution.

• Own the 40 day requisition metric for given requisition pool—driving forecasting and management/escalation of risk
• Support PFEP deployment and data quality improvements
• Partner with Commodity Lead to grow buy/commodity partnership

Job Description Summary A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Lead Buyer to join our purchasing team in Cheltenham on a 15 month fixed term contract. In this position, you will take ownership of a group of suppliers, managing purchase order placements and address any challenges that arise. You will also elevate issues as necessary to mitigate any concerns or risks. There is potential for this role to expand to include Long Term Agreement (LTA) and Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) placements, aligning with our commodity partnership strategy. Our Cheltenham facility specialises in manufacturing advanced aircraft power distribution and avionics systems. Roles and Responsibilities

• Place and follow-up on POs.
• Manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution.

• Understands how work of own team contributes to the area.
• Resolves issues using established procedures.
• Consults People Leader or more senior team members for issues outside of defined parameters.
• Own the 40 day requisition metric for given requisition pool - driving forecasting and management/escalation of risk
• Support the continued deployment of PFEP - improving data quality
• Partner with relevant Commodity Lead to grow buy/commodity partnership
• Maintain ownership of certain strategic suppliers

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience in Sourcing & Buying-Procurement.
• Relevant experience in Aerospace/FAR15 procurement would be an advantage
