Anson McCade Pty in Stevenage is seeking a Lead Buyer - Information Technology to lead IT procurement for a growing engineering organisation. Hybrid role with 2/3 days on site and broad responsibility across software, hardware, and services.

The role focuses on managing significant IT spend, stakeholder engagement across UK and Europe, and delivering major procurement projects with strong commercial and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support procurement activities across IT categories.
• Lead procurement projects from requirements through to completion.
• Support Category Managers with major procurement initiatives and strategic projects.
• Work across enterprise software, engineering software, manufacturing software, SaaS, IT services, cyber, networks, hardware, security, AI, and HPC.
• Develop relationships with internal stakeholders across the organisation.
• Build and manage relationships with suppliers and external partners.
• Support international procurement activities across UK and European locations.

Lead Buyer - Information Technology

Location: Stevenage

Working Pattern: Hybrid - 2/3 days per week onsite

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Lead Buyer - Information Technology to join a leading engineering organisation and play a key role within its IT Procurement function.

This role offers the opportunity to manage significant technology spend across a broad range of categories, while working with stakeholders and suppliers across an international environment. Whether you're an experienced IT procurement professional or an indirect buyer looking to move into IT procurement, this role provides the opportunity to develop your expertise and take ownership of large procurement projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and support procurement activities across a broad range of IT categories
• Lead procurement projects from initial requirements through to successful completion
• Support Category Managers with major procurement initiatives and strategic projects
• Work across areas including enterprise software, engineering software, manufacturing software, SaaS, IT services, cyber, networks, hardware, security, AI, and high-performance computing
• Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders across the organisation
• Build and manage effective relationships with suppliers and external partners
• Support international procurement activities across UK and European locations

What We're Looking For:

• Experience in IT procurement, or strong procurement experience within other indirect categories with an interest in moving into IT
• Strong commercial, procurement, and negotiation skills
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to manage and deliver large procurement projects
• Comfortable working with stakeholders and suppliers in an international environment
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Willingness to develop knowledge across different areas of technology procurement

Desirable:

• Working towards or willingness to work towards MCIPS qualification
• Previous experience across IT categories such as software, SaaS, cyber, networks, hardware, AI, or IT services
• Experience working within an international procurement environment
