Job summary

A leading NHS Trust in Shrewsbury is seeking a registered Biomedical Scientist for their Cellular Pathology department. The role involves critical laboratory responsibilities and requires proficiency in various scientific areas, alongside the ability to manage a 24/7 Blood Science service. Candidates with relevant experience and that are HCPC registered will be prioritized. Weekend working, on a rotational basis, will be necessary.

Qualifications

  • HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with relevant experience in Cellular Pathology.
  • Ability to deputise for Senior Biomedical Scientists and lead in specific laboratory sections.
  • Required to attain proficiency in Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology, and Blood Transfusion.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the provision of a diagnostic service.
  • Perform laboratory procedures competently.
  • Participate in out of hours service as a team leader.
