Job summary

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Specialist Bereavement Nurse for Early Pregnancy Loss. This part-time role (18.75 hours/week) focuses on coordinating compassionate bereavement care and leading service development for women and families.

The post holder will work with Gynaecology Services and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based care and drive quality improvement in line with national bereavement standards.

Qualifications

• Passion for delivering compassionate bereavement care.
• Ability to act as lead and coordinator after early pregnancy loss.
• Excellent communication and advocacy to support women and families.
• Recognise and monitor psychological wellbeing; refer for support.
• Experience developing and delivering education to multidisciplinary teams.
• Listen to service users and use feedback to improve care.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practice and national bereavement standards.
• Identify gaps in service provision and contribute to quality improvement.
• Experience reviewing and developing guidelines and patient information.
• Strong collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and specialist services.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of high-quality, compassionate care for women and families experiencing early pregnancy loss.
• Work across multidisciplinary teams to strengthen bereavement care and benchmark services against national standards.
• Lead quality improvement and translate learning from data into patient care improvements.
• Collaborate with service users, Maternity Voices Partnership, third-sector organisations and regional networks to share best practice.
