Job summary

Spencer Ogden is seeking a proactive Project Manager to lead large-scale battery energy storage system projects in the UK, from contract award to commissioning and handover. You will ensure safety, on-time delivery, on-budget performance, and high technical standards while coordinating with contractors, grid operators, planning authorities, and landowners.

The role requires strong engineering knowledge, excellent stakeholder management, and a track record in UK grid or energy infrastructure

Qualifications

5+ years’ experience in project delivery for energy storage or grid projects.
Familiar with construction and commissioning phases of battery projects.
Experience with EPCs, ICPs, and DNOs on grid-connected projects.
Knowledge of FIDIC or equivalent contracts and change processes.
Proficient with project tools (Gantt, budgets, reports).

Responsibilities

Manage tendering and contract scopes with EPCs, ICPs, and partners.
Oversee construction delivery including planning conditions and grid compliance.
Monitor budgets, schedules, risks, and contractor performance.
Coordinate stakeholder meetings and project reporting.
Ensure compliance with HSE, CDM, and planning requirements.
Manage commissioning, handover, and close-out.
Support dispute resolution and provide input on change orders.
