Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Group in Solihull, UK is seeking a Lead Backend Engineer to drive the backend stack and API design. You will lead a team, collaborate with product managers, and contribute to AI-powered enhancements for access control and workforce management solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Strong proficiency in C++, thorough knowledge of the standard library (STL), and algorithms.
Experience with AI/ML-powered solutions and familiarity with LLMs and AI frameworks.
Knowledge of AI system architecture, prompt engineering, vector databases, RAG, and AI service integration.

Responsibilities

Lead backend development and ownership of the backend stack and APIs.
Collaborate with product managers, architects, and QA to design, develop, and maintain backend systems.
Provide technical leadership on AI adoption and contribute to API design discussions.
Lead and mentor a team of backend engineers, ensuring timely delivery and code quality.
Facilitate sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, optimize queries, and ensure scalable systems.
