Job summary

Malvern College is seeking a Lead Baby Room Practitioner to oversee the Baby Room in our Malvern nursery. You will lead a small team, ensure high standards of care and development, and work closely with the Nursery Manager to create a nurturing environment for infants.

Qualifications

• Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience working in an early years setting.
• Experience leading, supporting or mentoring colleagues.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and child development.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A warm, caring and child-centred approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support and motivate the Baby Room team to deliver outstanding childcare and early years education.
• Create a warm, caring and inclusive environment where every child feels safe, valued and secure.
• Plan and deliver engaging activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• Monitor children’s progress through high-quality observations and assessments.
• Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and welfare requirements are fully met.
• Support children with individual needs and work collaboratively with parents and professionals.
• Build strong partnerships with families, providing regular updates on children’s development.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with nursery policies and procedures.
• Support the development of team members through coaching, mentoring and modelling best practice.
