WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Principal to join our Aquatic Ecology team, leading freshwater ecology projects across the UK and internationally. You will drive environmental impact assessments and aquatic monitoring programmes with a focus on delivering high-quality scientific outputs.

The role requires a proven track record, expert knowledge of ecology and water legislation, and the ability to influence planning processes.

Competenze

• Extensive, relevant experience in consultancy, regulatory or industrial settings.
• Advanced knowledge of marine ecology, including protected species.
• Proven track record in designing and delivering aquatic monitoring programmes.
• Ability to produce technically robust reports and deliverables.
• Knowledge of ecology and water legislation and its planning relevance.
• Enthusiastic, confident, positive approach with strong communication and people management.

Mansioni

• Guide and oversee design of aquatic baseline survey programmes for EIAs and regulatory docs.
• Author EIA chapters and other outputs contributing to planning submissions UK/internationally.
• Represent clients on marine matters as required.
• Provide expert advice on freshwater ecology and related topics.
• Build and maintain internal/external profile as a technical expert.
