Job summary

British Red Cross is seeking an Application Development and Software Engineering Manager to lead the team responsible for development and integrations across systems, including the Microsoft Power Platform, Power Apps, Dynamics 365 and SharePoint. Location: UK Flexible (Hybrid, home and office).

You will drive delivery of complex, high‑risk products across the full lifecycle, coach teams in Agile/DevOps/Lean, and align initiatives with strategy while engaging key stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience leading software engineering teams delivering complex, high‑risk products.
• Proven ability to align technology strategy with business goals and user needs.
• Strong knowledge of Agile, DevOps and Lean practices and modern tooling.

Responsibilities

• Develop a strategy for technology initiatives with focus on user experience, security and resilience.
• Grow an inclusive engineering culture and empower developers to own delivery decisions.
• Set stakeholder expectations and provide early problem‑solving for complex requirements.
• Oversee development and delivery of software applications, integrations and services.

• Lead full product lifecycle and establish sustainable support models.
• Define and track goals using OKRs and KPIs.
