Lead Application Operations Engineer | 6 Month Contract | (Outside IR35) | Hybrid, Glasgow 2 day's pw | Starting ASAP

Day Rate: £473.27 Outside IR35

As a Lead Application Operations Engineer you will guide a team of engineers to provide second‑line support for a diverse range of business‑critical applications and platforms. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to offer technical expertise and leadership in resolving complex, high‑priority incidents. You will oversee application availability and reliability by monitoring, maintaining and configuring the team’s duties.

  • Maintain configuration, accurate information and control IT assets.
  • Manage service components to ensure they meet business needs and performance targets.
  • Deal with high‑impact, complex incidents and change requests.
  • Identify process optimisation opportunities and contribute to the implementation of proposed solutions.
  • Lead the investigation and resolution of complex incidents.
  • Take accountability for issues and proactively search for potential problems.
  • Achieve excellent user outcomes.
  • Initiate and monitor actions to investigate patterns and trends to resolve problems.
  • Effectively consult specialists where required.
  • Determine the appropriate remedy and assist with its implementation.
  • Determine preventative measures.
  • Take inputs and establish coherent frameworks that work.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Hands‑on technical experience leading teams that manage and support business‑critical applications.
  • Proven track record of leading multi‑disciplinary teams through complex incident investigations and resolution.
  • Ability to drive continuous service improvement by challenging established practices with evidence‑based strategies.
  • Familiarity with AWS – only candidates with hands‑on experience with AWS will be considered.

This role has been deemed Outside IR35 by the client.
