HTC is a privately owned group which began in 1970 under the Vales Group of companies in Watford, Herts. They were one of the first dealers to take on a DAF franchise in the UK. The company was acquired by Ballyvesey Holdings in 2007, a privately owned group established in 1970 whose main activities are in road transport, trailer manufacturing, vehicle and construction equipment sales and supportive services to the road transport industry.

Here at DAF, you'll make sure that the best trucks are back on the road as fast as possible when they require maintenance. You'll use the most advanced workshop systems on trucks with state-of-the-art technology. If you enjoy taking on responsibility, then we'll give you the freedom to perform diagnostics and to decide how to carry out maintenance and repairs on trucks. You'll be part of a great team with friendly colleagues.

Areas of responsibility:
  • Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on all makes of LCVs to VOSA standard
  • Diagnose and rectify all types of faults
  • Ensure all vehicles worked upon are handled carefully and that all precautions are taken whilst on the premises
  • Liaise with the parts department to attain correct parts
  • Ensure health & safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to
  • Ensure appropriate clocking's are made, all job cards and service sheets are completed in a timely manner
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness
  • Maintain a thorough and current product knowledge and attend training courses
Candidates should be able to demonstrate:

  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer care skills

Experience / skills:
  • Technical qualification (City and Guilds or NVQ Qualified Technician) or proven experience repairing and maintaining vehicles
  • Current driving license
