A local government council in Truro is expanding its Adult Social Care Legal Team and seeks a qualified solicitor for debt recovery cases. The successful candidate will manage complex legal matters while collaborating with the Council's Charging and Assessment Team. This role is based within the Adult Social Care Legal Team.
We are continuing to expand our Adult Social Care legal team to meet increased demand and maintain our high standards of service. As part of this expansion we have identified the need for a bespoke position within the ASC Legal team that is dedicated primarily to working closely with the Councils Charging and Assessment Team to recover unpaid care costs.
This exciting new role will require having conduct of a variety of straightforward and more complex debt recovery matters which relate directly to Adult Social Care and will involve consideration of issues such as deprivation of assets the role of a financial Deputy / Lasting Power of Attorney the enforcement of judgments and the limitations on the Councils powers to charge for meeting an individuals assessed eligible care needs.
You will already have or will be supported to develop a good working knowledge of relevant Adult Social Care legislation such as the Care Act 2015 and Mental Capacity Act 2005 and associated charging regulations.
This position will be subject to a basic criminal record disclosure check.
This is a full time role of 37 hours a week Monday to Friday. You will have the benefit of flexible working hours.
