Activate Learning – A-Level Law and Politics Teacher (Maternity Cover)

Activate Learning is looking for an A-Level Law and Politics Teacher to join our established teaching team at our Reading College campus. This role is to cover maternity leave until January 2027. We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals with the ability to inspire and deliver teaching on our A Level Law and Access Politics programmes. This is a full-time, fixed-term role covering maternity leave, based at our Reading College campus until January 2027. We would consider part-time and flexibility for the right candidate.

What you will do

Deliver engaging and purposeful lessons to a diverse range of learners, ensuring that students leave with not just their professional qualifications but also the attributes required to progress in the world of work.

To be successful
  • Act as a role model for students.
  • Have a genuine interest in working with and developing young people.
  • Hold an appropriate professional qualification at Level 4 or above (Degree) in law; a subject‑specific politics qualification is not required.
  • Have teaching experience – A‑Level experience highly desirable. A teaching qualification is not required; we will support you to develop your teaching skills and acquire qualifications while working with us.
  • Exhibit excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads.
