Job summary

Soho House is seeking a Laundry Assistant to join its housekeeping team in the UK. You will collect, wash, press and fold linen, towels, uniforms, and guest laundry, while operating laundry equipment safely and efficiently.

You will inspect items, report stains, maintain cleanliness of the laundry room, and support stock control and guest requests. Experience in busy venues and fabric care knowledge is desirable for this role.

Qualifications

• Up to 2 years’ experience in a busy high-profile venue.
• Reliable, friendly and guest-focused.
• Knowledge of fabric care or laundry operations preferred.

• Collect, sort, wash, dry, press, and fold linen, towels, uniforms, and guest laundry.
• Operate laundry machinery safely and efficiently.
• Inspect items for stains or damage and treat or report.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the laundry room.
• Follow guest laundry handling procedures and requests.
• Ensure stock of clean linen and uniforms is maintained and distributed.

The Role…

At Soho House, the Laundry Assistant plays a vital role in the housekeeping team, ensuring all linen, towels, uniforms, and guest items are cleaned, pressed, and presented to the highest standards. Working within the laundry department, you will be responsible for operating laundry equipment, sorting and processing items, and ensuring smooth daily operations.

The Laundry Assistant will support the wider housekeeping and operations team by maintaining efficiency, cleanliness, and organisation within the laundry area.

Key duties…

• Collect, sort, wash, dry, press, and fold linen, towels, uniforms, and guest laundry.
• Operate laundry machinery (washers, dryers, irons, presses) safely and efficiently.
• Inspect items for stains or damage and treat or report them appropriately.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the laundry room.
• Follow correct procedures for handling guest laundry and dry-cleaning requests.
• Ensure stock of clean linen and uniforms is well maintained and distributed as required.
• Monitor the condition of linen, towels, and uniforms, reporting any items needing replacement.
• Adhere to health & safety and hygiene standards, including safe use of cleaning chemicals.
• Assist with inventory counts and stock control of laundry supplies.

• Previous experience in a laundry, housekeeping, or similar environment is desirable.
