Job summary

Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking a Laundry Assistant for the London production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, based at the Palace Theatre, West End. The role requires reliable laundry work, ironing, and contributing to a smooth backstage wardrobe operation.

Start date ASAP. 24 hours weekly across Tue–Sun with varied morning shifts; deadline Friday, 6th November at 6pm. Salary is hourly per SOLT/BECTU agreement.

Laundry Assistant

Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking applications for a Laundry Assistant to work on the London production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, this new play by Jack Thorne received its world premiere in London’s West End at the Palace Theatre in summer 2016. The critically acclaimed production is the most awarded West End play in the history of the Olivier Awards, winning a record-breaking nine awards including Best New Play and Best Director in 2017.

Essential Skills include:

• Excellent laundry skills – including ironing
• Experience of working as a team; great communication and friendly manner
• Ability and desire to learn new methods and improvement to working practices
• Ability to work under direction or independently, following tried and tested methods

Exceptional candidates will have:

• Experience in a similar position on a large-scale production
• Excellent hand and machine sewing skills

Salary: Hourly rate as per SOLT/BECTU Agreement.
