If you are seeking an iterative environment where you can drive innovation, apply state-of-the-art technologies to solve real world delivery challenges, and provide benefits to customers, Prime Air is the place for you.

Come work on the Amazon Prime Air Team!

Amazon Prime Air is seeking an experienced program manager to build and launch our drone delivery sites across Europe. As one of a team of Expansion Program Managers, each owning a portfolio of sites, you will start from the signed-off, permitted design handed over by the Expansion Program Manager (Design & Integration), oversee the build delivered by Amazon’s GES construction teams, own the ordering and installation of Prime Air’s site technology and infrastructure, and be accountable for each site launching on the date we committed to. You will own each site’s integrated launch schedule, drive the workstreams you own and hold the teams that own the rest to their dates. Prime Air is expanding drone delivery across Europe, and you will help build the launch process that makes that expansion repeatable.

Key job responsibilities
  • . Own delivery of a portfolio of concurrent site launches, including the integrated launch schedule for each site from build start to commercial launch, and be accountable for launching on time
  • . Oversee the build delivered by Amazon GES, holding them to the construction schedule within the integrated launch schedule you own, coordinating site activity with the host operation, and accepting the quality of the handover
  • . Own each site’s build budget against the approved capital request, including approving construction change requests, and make scope, schedule and cost trade-offs, escalating with options when a launch date is at risk
  • . Own the requirements, quantities and on-site dates for Prime Air‑specific technology and infrastructure, such as launch ramps, charging systems, site compute and communications equipment and ground support equipment, within the space, power and interfaces defined in the site design, and work with Prime Air Supply Chain to order and deliver it
  • . Own the relationship with host site operations from build start to launch, including site access, shared dock and yard use, and keeping disruption to the live operation to a minimum
  • . Coordinate installation, commissioning and validation by the responsible teams and vendors, including IT, ground support equipment, quality and product support engineering teams, so that site system integration and first flight start on schedule
  • . Drive the readiness workstreams owned by other teams, including regulatory approval, crew hiring and training and operational readiness, holding owners to their dates and escalating any risk to the launch date early
  • . Run site launch governance: risk register and readiness reviews, and recommend the launch go/no‑go decision against agreed criteria
  • . Report status, risk and change control to leadership with clear, decision‑ready communication
  • . Build the mechanisms that make launches repeatable, and improve the European launch playbook with the lessons from each site
  • . Travel up to 50% to launch sites across the UK and the EU
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technology field
  • program or project management experience
  • experience in delivering fit‑out, equipment installation or construction projects on active sites, working through an in‑house or external construction partner
  • Experience owning an integrated schedule across multiple teams and vendors and delivering to a fixed launch date
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and influencing senior stakeholders without direct authority
  • Experience managing risk, change control and dependencies, and communicating status to senior leadership
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
  • Business fluency in English (C1 or above)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience launching Amazon fulfilment centre, sort centre or delivery station sites
  • Experience with installation and commissioning of technical equipment such as automation, robotics, IT and telecoms or aviation ground equipment
  • Experience launching sites in more than one European country
  • Experience with aviation or other regulated operations
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification
  • Working proficiency in a second European language
